Greetings watermelon family!

For those who don’t know me, I’d like to introduce myself and my family.  I am Rob Gibson, with Gibson Produce. I have worked for my family's operation for 15 years.   I live in Vero Beach with my wife, Kel, and 2 year old son, Bo.  We are grateful and excited to serve this association for the next two years!

This past convention was a wonderful one!  Thank you so much to Trey and Katelyn Miller for dedicating so much to our association.  This year we raised over $450,000 from our auction.  This would not have been possible without the generous support of you, our members.  Congratulations to King Load Buyer: Melon 1, King Auction Buyer: Land Watermelon, and King Load Donor: Healthy Harvest bought by Melon 1 at .47.  We also welcomed a new Executive Director, Jenna Brown, and I am confident she will give us the hard work and dedication shown by her predecessor.  Adrian Land was named 2nd Vice President and I look forward to working with him for the good of the association.

Congratulations to our 2024 Florida Watermelon Queen, Miss Elanie Mason.  She is a bright and kind young woman and will be an amazing ambassador for our association.  I know she and Debra will have an incredible year together. 

As we head into this busy Christmas season I would like to remind you of a couple important things for the new year.  Membership renewals will begin on January 1st and the dates for our 2024 convention in Sanibel are October 24-26.
